9. bis 24. Juni 2018 in Waidhofen an der Thaya – Viertelfestival NÖ 2018
Ein stillgelegter Bahnhof wurde Ort der Begegnung und Bewegung.
Ausgangspunkt des Projektes war die Franz-Josefs-Bahn, die der Region Waldviertel und dem damaligen Böhmen und Mähren im späten 19. Jahrhundert zu wirtschaftlichem Aufschwung verhalf.
Im Rahmen des Viertelfestival Niederösterreich Waldviertel, das 2018 unter dem Motto „Narrenkastl schaun“ stand, wurde von einem Künstlerinnenkollektiv ein interaktives Projekt mit dem Titel „Nächster Halt Narrnkastl!“ am stillgelegten Bahnhof/im Bahnhofsmagazin Waidhofen an der Thaya initiiert.
Der Bahnhof Waidhofen bildet die Schnittstelle zwischen der Bahntrasse der ehemaligen Thayatalbahn und dem neuen Thayatal Radweg. Im dortigen Magazin wurde ein „Narrnkastl“ errichtet und mit einer Performance feierlich eröffnet. Bei diesem „Narrnkastl“ handelte es sich um einen begehbaren Kubus – Bühne und Rauminstallation zugleich, der Besucher_innen zum Anhalten, Aussteigen, Begehen, Innehalten, Schauen, Tanzen, Träumen und Staunen … einlud.
Der historische Bahnhof wurde von 9. bis 24. Juni 2018 mit analogem Film, einer Rauminstallation, einer Ausstellung zur bewegten Geschichte der Thayatalbahn und einer Performance, welche bei einem Wochenend-Workshop vom 9. bis 10.6. mit Menschen vor Ort erarbeitet worden war, bespielt.
Durch gemeinsames künstlerisches Tun konnte ein neuer Blick auf die Geschichte des Ortes, speziell des Bahnhofs eröffnet werden, der zu einer Drehscheibe für Aufführung, Ausstellung und Austausch wurde.
2019 erfolgte das Re-Opening des Bahn-Teilabschnittes Schwarzenau – Waidhofen an der Thaya in Kooperation mit dem Radweg Thayarunde.

A discontinued train junction was turned into a place of encounter and movement.
The starting point for the project was the Franz Josef train line that helped Bohemia, Moravia, and the Waldviertel realize economic prosperity in the latter half of the 19th century.
In 2018, the Viertel Festival Lower Austria Waldviertel ran under the motto "Fool's Box Watching", and hosted an interactive project initiated by an artist collective entitled NEXT STOP FOOL'S BOX, located at the closed down Waidhofen-on-the Thaya train station.
The Waidhofen train station constitutes the junction of the former Thaya Valley line and the new Thaya Valley bicycle path. The installation of a "Fool's Box" there was celebrated by a festive performance. The Fool's Box took the form of a cube which people could enter, simultaneously comprising a theater and a spatial installation. It was a place that invited visitors to stop in, to disembark, to inspect, to pause, to look, dance, dream and be amazed.
From June 9-24, 2019, the historical train station was transformed into a spatial installation through the use of analog film, an exhibition of the eventful history of the Thaya Valley train line, including a performance created on site by a weekend workshop that ran from June 9 to June 10 that was recorded.
The communal artistic action provided a new perspective on the location's history, specifically the train station which became a hub for performance, exhibition, and exchange. In 2019, the reopening of the train line section Schwarzenau – Waidhofen on the Thaya in cooperation of the bicycle path Thaya Trail.
